Effects of Different Organic Soil Amendments on Nitrogen Nutrition and Yield of Organic Greenhouse Tomato Crop

Manure is a common source of nitrogen (N) in organic farming. However, manure not always easily available, while the maximum N amount added as animal agriculture restricted by EU regulations. The present study was designed to test whether green manuring with warm-season legume and intercropping cold-season can substitute farm-yard or compost sources greenhouse tomato crops. To this hypothesis, winter-spring (WS) crop installed February following incorporation residues an autumn-winter (AW) intercropped faba bean, which had been fertilized cowpea manure. This treatment, henceforth termed treatment (LT), compared use fertilization both In addition, combination LT also used fourth treatment. results showed that legumes particularly contribute significant crop, through biological fixation process. Nevertheless, manure, compost, their cannot efficiently replace farmyard source. Compost exhibited slow mineralization course.
